HEALTHCARE

Despite significant advances in healthcare in this country, we are still falling short. Every time we turn around, we have members of Congress attempting to overturn the Affordable Care Act without any regard for the consequences of such an action. For far too long, folks in this country have had to decide to go to the doctor or pay their rent, get their much-needed medication, or pay for groceries. There are far too many people in our district who are uninsured or underinsured, and it is time that we change that.

We must take healthcare seriously in this country for the health and security of this nation. We can close healthcare deserts by opening rural public hospitals and provide a springboard to new physicians by offering student loan repayment as part of their employment at a public hospital.
